The Virtuous Wife
The Virtuous Wife
Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; so he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeks wool and flax, and willingly works with her hands. She is like the merchant ships, she brings her food from afar. She also rises while it is yet night, and provides food for her household, and a portion for her maidservants. She considers a field and buys it; from her profits she plants a vineyard. She girds herself with strength, and strengthens her arms. She perceives that her merchandise is good, and her lamp does not go out by night. She stretches out her hands to the distaff, and her hand holds the spindle. She extends her hand to the poor, yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household is clothed with scarlet. She makes tapestry for herself; her clothing is fine linen and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land. She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies sashes for the merchants. Strength and honor are her clothing; she shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all.” Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Our Wedding Text
1 Corinthians 13
13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned,[a] but have not love, it profits me nothing.
4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.
13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

God Gives His Peace to the Brokenhearted
I come to you again with a broken heart. Last night I had a horrible dream. Please protect my family and don’t let that happen that what I dreamt. Please Lord I beg this of you.. That would be more than my heart could bear. I cry out to you my Lord with my voice; I make with my voice to you Lord Jesus my supplication.I pour out my complaints before you my Lord and God; I declare before you my trouble. When my spirit is overwhelmed within me, as it has been this whole day, then You know my path. In the way in which I feel like the evil one has secretly set a snare for me. But I feel so helpless and hopeless today. Look on my right hand and see, for I feel like there is no one who acknowledges me; refuge has failed me; no one cares for my soul. I cried out to You, O Lord: I said, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living. Attend to my cry, for I am brought extremely low; deliver me from my persecutors, for they are stronger than I. oh God you know what one of my loved ones posted and how deeply it hurt me. Please help me to forgive and please redeem my from the past. Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise Your name; let only the righteous surround me with your love, for You will deal bountifully with me.”
You are my only hope. Even as I grow old Lord, be with me and never let me feel abandoned and alone. You know me Lord. Thank you for letting me vent and spill out all that is in my heart. Amen.
Cranky Old Man
What are you thinking .. . when you're looking at me?
A cranky old man, . . . . . .not very wise,
Uncertain of habit .. . . . . . . .. with faraway eyes?
Who dribbles his food .. . ... . . and makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice . .'I do wish you'd try!'
Who seems not to notice . . .the things that you do.
And forever is losing . . . . . .. . . A sock or shoe?
Who, resisting or not . . . ... lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding . . . .The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking?. .Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse .you're not looking at me.
I'll tell you who I am . . . . .. As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, .. . . . as I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of Ten . .with a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters .. . . .. . who love one another
A young boy of Sixteen . . . .. with wings on his feet
Dreaming that soon now . . .. . . a lover he'll meet.
A groom soon at Twenty . . . ..my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows .. .. .that I promised to keep.
At Twenty-Five, now . . . . .I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide . . . And a secure happy home.
A man of Thirty . .. . . . . My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other . . .. With ties that should last.
At Forty, my young sons .. .have grown and are gone,
But my woman is beside me . . to see I don't mourn.
At Fifty, once more, .. ...Babies play 'round my knee,
Again, we know children . . . . My loved one and me.
Dark days are upon me . . . . My wife is now dead.
I look at the future ... . . . . I shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing .. . . young of their own.
And I think of the years . . . And the love that I've known.
I'm now an old man . . . . . . .. and nature is cruel.
It's jest to make old age . . . . . . . look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles .. .. . grace and vigour, depart.
There is now a stone . . . where I once had a heart.
But inside this old carcass . A young man still dwells,
And now and again . . . . . my battered heart swells
I remember the joys . . . . .. . I remember the pain.
And I'm loving and living . . . . . . . life over again.
I think of the years, all too few . . .. gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact . . . that nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people .. . . . .. . . open and see.
Not a cranky old man .
Look closer . . . . see .. .. . .. .... . ME!!

A Romans Prayer
Thank you for the good nights rest I had last night. Thank you for your word and how it speaks to me. Never stop speaking to me Lord. I need to hear your voice. Let your love have dominion over me for all eternity. Thank you that you have bound me in the Holy bonds of marriage to a man who loves you so much. Thank you for the encouragement he is to follow you. Please never release me from my husband until you call me home. I love him so much and I don’t know how I could go on without him. I know with you I would be able to do anything but I would rather have him than not have him. In all things let it be your will that be done not mine.
Help me be dead to the law but not dead to your word Lord. Make it more and more alive within me. Let it consume me more and more everyday! Let your spirit reign in me and be a light to my paths. Let my sinful passions conquer over me. I beg you to set me free of them. Don’t let my sinful nature bear fruit. Let my life bear Godly fruit for you and through them bless others around me. Let me bear fruit unto life not death. Let me die to my sinful nature more everyday. Thank you that you are still in the business of saving souls. Thank you for saving me and delivering me from the law and placing me under your grace. Thank you for setting me free of the sins that have held me in its grip for my whole life. I beg you to keep setting me free even more. Renew your spirit within me everyday. Thank you that you have given us your law so that we can know what sin is. Without it we would be lost because we would never know what sin is nor how to avoid it and stay clear of it. Set me free of the evil desires that creep into my heart and don’t let them have dominion over me. I know that in sin we are all dead and that you alone, oh Lord, can make us alive. Make me more and more alive everyday.
A Spring of Living Water
Is what I ought to be
My life is to shine
So everyone will see
That I am His disciple
And Jesus I love
For my home is not here
But in heaven above

Praying the Proverbs
You are my father, Lord. You have saved me from all my wickedness. Make me righteous and bold as a lion to do your will for my life. Many are my transgressions against you, thank you that you chastise me and forgive me all my transgressions. Please make me a woman of understanding and knowledge so that I can understand your word and apply it to every area of my life. Let me be rich in you and feed my soul nourishing food every day so that I will grow strong in you. Help me never to forsake your law. Write it upon my heart and ingrain it upon my mind so that I will never go astray. Help me to understand your justice. Help me walk in your integrity. Make me a discerning daughter who keeps the law so that I will never shame you my Heavenly Father. Help me never to increase my possessions or make myself feel better at the expense of others. Let my prayers never be an abomination to you Lord. I ask for your grace and strength to always listen to your law.
Let me never be responsible for leading anyone astray from you. If I have done this in the past, Lord please forgive me for this sin and be with me and teach me to change my heart. Use me to lead others to your throne. Let me inherit what you have laid aside for all those who love and follow you Lord. Help me not to wise in my own eyes. Make me a person with understanding. When I wake up in the morning … let me rejoice and praise your Holy name. Let me not be ashamed and hide myself. Help us to prosper for your sake and praise you for all that we have. Help me not to be too proud to admit when I have wronged anyone. In your great love show mercy on me and forgive all my sins. Don’t let them stand between you and I. Help me to have respect for things that are from you. Harden not my heart against you. Please do not let any calamity befall me.
Help me not be like a roaring lion nor a charging bear over those you have put under my care. You have trusted me with my children, help me not to abuse that sacred trust. Help me not be an oppressor nor come across as one. Help me not to covet what I do not have but rather be thankful for the things that I do have. Prolong my days because my children and husband need me. More than anything, Lord, I desire to walk blameless before you and be saved from my sins and I know that you alone have the power to do this. I want to thank you for your work on the cross which made this possible. Thank you for saving me. I will eternally praise you for your great love and mercies to me. Give me the stamina I need to work hard and provide food, clothing and all that is necessary for my family. Help me to faithful in the little things that you give me so that I may abound with your blessings. Help me to be rich in you and in love. I ask for your wisdom not to show partiality towards my fellow man. Please do not let poverty, especially spiritual poverty, come upon me. Help me not to flatter people with my mouth but rather be willing to rebuke in love. I want to be more worried about what you will say and think about me rather than worry about what people will say and think.
Help me to honour my mother and my father even when it is very hard. Let my heart not be a proud heart and help me not to stir up strife. Help me to fully trust in you and to prosper in your will for my life. Help me not to trust in my own abilities for then I will be known as a fool. Deliver me from my foolish heart that often follows my own will and desire instead of yours. Bless me and give me opportunities to give of the blessings you have given me to others. Let me always increase in your righteousness my Lord and my God. Amen.

April Begins
Thank you for your rebukes. Help me not to become stiff-necked nor to harden my heart towards your rebukes. Please do not destroy me in my arrogance and pride. Please bring more of your righteous people into my life. I will rejoice in having more Godly friends. Please remove all the negative people out of my life. Give me your wisdom I pray and your understanding. Help me live the life you would want me to life so that people will rejoice in me and praise you for the work you have done in my life.
Help me be wise with the wealth you have given me. Please help me not to waste any of it but rather use it in your service … in whichever way you would like me to use it. Let me never be led astray from your love. Let me always be found worshipping in your courts.
Help me to be a genuine friend to all around me, to all those you bring into my life. Help me not to flatter people with my mouth if I don’t mean it with my heart. Help me not to be snared by the evil one. Let sing and rejoice in your righteousness all day long … everyday. Help my mouth to only speak words that you would speak and to ask myself at every moment … what would Jesus do? Help me to be a considerate person and to consider those who are poorer than I am … whether financially, emotionally or spiritually. I ask your help in me never to become or be known as a scoffer. As it says in your word … scoffers set a city aflame, but wise men turn away wrath.
Give me your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help me not to be like your word says … If a wise man contends with a foolish man, whether the fool rages or laughs, there is no peace. Help me only do things that will edify you and others.
When people hurt me Lord, help me not to desire revenge. Help me to love them the way you would love them and the way you love me. Help me to always … no matter the circumstances desire to seek others well-being. Help me not to be spiteful and vent my feelings when I am hurt but to be wise and hold them back because later I will regret my rash words and actions. Help me never to pay attention to spiteful peoples lies. Help me to always be a Godly influence to people and remember in all things that I say and do that I will … whether I like it or not … influence people either for or against you. Help me be a sunshine for you to all those around me. Thank you that whether we are serving you perfectly or not you oh Lord give light to our eyes whether we are perfect or not. Be my mouth and help only your truth to come out of it. Establish your throne forever in my heart and let my mind be your footstool. Help me to let you be the judge and not take that job upon myself. You, Lord, know that often I am very judgemental towards others, especially when someone hurts me or my pride. Remove every trace of pride out of me. Freely use your rod to rebuke me and give me your wisdom. I know that I won’t like those times but I know you will see me through the lessons I need to learn. And that you will make me stronger in faith and in you. Never leave me to myself when I am disobedient to your commands. Help me never to bring shame to you. But be merciful with me and graceful. I know you will carry me when I am in pain and needing rebuke. You will not leave me nor forsake me. Thank you for that
Let me not be one of those that are know as wicked, let not my transgressions increase. Let me not fall into the hands of an angry God. Correct me in all areas of my life Lord and show me what I can do to correct things that I have messed up in my life with my sins. Let me be a delight in your sight. Shine your life and light through me so that others will get to know you intimately, not just know of you but personally know you. Give me your revelations for my life. Help me not to cast off restraint but give me the joy of keeping your law. Let the words of your mouth correct me in all areas of my life. You alone completely understand me and my thoughts. Respond to my pleas with your love, grace and mercies. Help me to not be hasty with my words but rather to think about what I am saying BEFORE I say it so that I make sure it will only be things that will glorify you. Help me not be like a fool for there is more hope for a fool than there would be for me if I don’t watch what I say.
Please help me work on my anger problem. Help me not be an angry person because your word says … an angry person stirs up strife, and a furious person abounds in transgression. I do not want to be known as a furious person and I don’t want to abound in transgression and I know only you can keep me on the right path. Help me not be a proud person because a proud person will bring themselves low, but the humble in spirit will retain honour. And I want to retain as much honour for you as I can. Give me the strength to do that. Help me be truthful in all things at all times. Help me not to fear people anymore. Fear of people is a snare, help me not to fall into it. Help me trust in you Lord because all who trust in you Lord shall be safe. Help me not to seek peoples favour but rather only pursue your favour because justice for people comes from only you Lord. An unjust person, Lord, is an abomination to you, and them who are upright in your way, oh Lord, are an abomination to the wicked. Help me to be an abomination to the wicked too. Help me be your servant and to love you with all my heart.
