The Virtuous Wife

Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; so he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeks wool and flax, and willingly works with her hands. She is like the merchant ships, she brings her food from afar. She also rises while it is yet night, and provides food for her household, and a portion for her maidservants. She considers a field and buys it; from her profits she plants a vineyard. She girds herself with strength, and strengthens her arms. She perceives that her merchandise is good, and her lamp does not go out by night. She stretches out her hands to the distaff, and her hand holds the spindle. She extends her hand to the poor, yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household is clothed with scarlet. She makes tapestry for herself; her clothing is fine linen and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land. She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies sashes for the merchants. Strength and honor are her clothing; she shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all.” Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Armour of God

Father

Thank you Father for your love and amazing grace. Thank you for loving me enough to sustain me in all circumstances. Thank you for the gift of a godly loving husband who is there for me in all things and such a support to me, even in my new business venture. Thank you that he says loving and kind words to me and lets me know that he is proud of me. Help me to show my thanks to him everyday in many ways. Help me to remember to do my one way every day for and to him to show my love back to him. Thank you for my seven children you have given me and for the one I carry.
Thank you for your word, the Bible, that we can read it in our own language. Thank you that we don’t get persecuted for having your word in our homes. Be with me that I may make good use of it and read it every moment I can. And to make deliberate time to spend with you in your word. I know it is through your word that you begin to work in my life and to change my heart and heal my hurts, mind and body as well. Help me to be so engrossed in you and in your word that nothing else will matter. When I feel troubled and distressed that I will remember and be able to bring to mind the words from your word that I need and have the strength to understand and apply them to my life in every situation. You are all that matters. Help me not allow things to take me away from you and to distract me from your love to from displaying your love to all those around me at all times. I love you very much and I ask you to help me have the ability to demonstrate my love for you every day in every way. Especially to my husband, who also loves you, and to the blessings you have given me … my eight children.
Help me be strong in you and your word so that I won’t sin against you nor my godly husband in any way. Help me to stay away from sinful things and to fill myself with you and your love so much that I won’t have a moment to be idle in which I can fall prey to the evil one. Keep me safe from the evil one and protect me from his fiery arrows. Help me to put on the whole armour that you provide for all those who love you. Help me to be strong in you and the power of your might. Help me put on the whole armour you gave me so that I can stand against the tricks and cunning ruses of the devil. When I go through difficult times, remind me that my battle isn’t against flesh and blood but rather against evil powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Help me that I may be able to withstand in the evil days that I know will come upon me and my loved ones.
Teach me how to have my waist girded with your truth. There are so many faiths out there and everyone believes their faith is the most accurately inline with your word. Help me to know true truth from false truths. Please keep the evil one from deceiving me and blinding my eyes to your truth. Your truth shouts to me from your creation, help me never to lose sight of you and to stay grounded in your truth.
Help me to put on the breastplate of righteousness and to have the shoes on my feet, ready to share your gospel with anyone who you bring to my heart to speak to. Again I ask that you give me the strength to hold the shield of faith because I know at any given moment, without warning, the devil with shoot fiery arrows at me and try to destroy me. But you are my shield of faith and my helmet of salvation. You will do the battle for me. I need to just stand firm in your love and stand on your promises. You have also given me the sword of the Holy Spirit, which is your word. I know if I stand firm and am watchful and pray that your Spirit will give me the comfort and reassurance I need to continue in faith. And I want to lift up my hands in thanksgiving to you for the love you show me and for giving me your Spirit. But mostly I want to thank you for your gift of salvation, for dying on the cross for my sins and making it possible for me to not just here serve you but some day in heaven sing praises and serve you for all eternity.
On more thing I want to bring before you, Lord, today you heard what happened and how my heart was broken. Please make things right and please help me to trust that you can make things right. I ask you to please forgive my unbelief and help me stay strong. Don’t let these arrows of Satan harm me. Let me stay strong in you and help me know that all will be alright. I pray this in your Holy name … Amen.
